Bespoke portraiture for women who want To be represented with truth, presence and intention.

Private, individually designed portrait experiences in East Lothian, for women across Edinburgh and the surrounding areas.

Portrait commissions begin at £795.

There comes a point when the photographs you have no longer represent the woman you have become.

You may have changed professionally. Moved through a significant part of your life. Become more visible, more certain, or simply less willing to remain absent from the photographs that record it.

Perhaps you need a professional image that reflects the level at which you now work. Perhaps you want to be photographed for no public reason at all. Perhaps you are curious about creating something more intimate, expressive or unexpected.

Whatever brings you here, the work does not begin by asking you to perform for a camera. It begins with a conversation about who you are, why this matters now and how you would like to be seen.

Personal Portraiture

A private portrait experience created around who you are now. It may be quiet, assured, expressive, elegant or entirely unexpected. There is no part for you to play and no standard version of how a woman should be photographed.

Professional Presence

Strategic portraits for women whose visibility carries weight. Created for LinkedIn, websites, press and professional use—but designed first to represent your authority, character and current position accurately.

Intimate Portraiture

Sensual portraiture handled with privacy, direction and restraint. You decide what remains covered, what is explored and whether the finished work is ever seen by anyone beyond you.

You are not expected to know how to be photographed.

Most of the women you see here had never been professionally photographed. Many arrived believing they were not photogenic. Some were comfortable being visible in their work but deeply uncomfortable in front of a camera. Others had spent years being the person behind family photographs rather than within them.

My responsibility is not to ask you to arrive confident, prepared to pose or ready to perform. It is to understand you, design the visual direction carefully and guide every element of the portrait day—from wardrobe and light to posture, hands, movement and expression.

The experience is private, one-to-one and deliberately unhurried. Nothing is produced on a conveyor belt, and no two women are photographed in the same way.

From first conversation
to finished portrait

01 - Conversation

We begin privately on Zoom. I want to understand why you are considering being photographed, what you are drawn to, what concerns you and what you would like the finished work to hold.

02 — Portrait design

Once you commission me, we develop the visual direction together. I guide wardrobe, colour, texture and preparation, then design up to three connected visual chapters around you.

03 — Portrait day

The day is private and unhurried, with time to settle, change direction and take breaks. You are guided throughout and never left wondering what to do in front of the camera.

04 — Selection and artwork

We meet again to view a carefully curated set of portraits and choose those that will be fully finished. Your final collection is professionally retouched and presented as both digital files and printed artwork.

Portraits can hold more than appearance.

Some commissions become part of a larger portrait story: a woman at a particular turning point, three generations held within one frame, or a person’s relationship with identity, work and place.

These stories show how a portrait can become a record—not only of how someone looked, but of who they were at that moment.

Your portrait commission

Every commission includes the discovery conversation, individual creative planning, wardrobe guidance, a private and fully directed portrait experience, and a finished collection of portraits presented in print and as corresponding digital files.

Portrait commissions begin at £795 for five finished portraits. The signature Portrait Story commission is £1,295 and includes ten finished portraits presented in a handcrafted folio collection.

You do not need to decide which collection is right before we have spoken. We begin with your reason for being photographed and the work you would like to create.
